Hirofumi Isoya + Seiichiro Osa + Kouichi Tabata “Primal Reverberation”

Imagine a single picture. Now imagine the world before this picture was produced, and then the world after this picture was finished. What had occurred in the world before it was created, and what has happened since? Or, how about thinking about your life before you saw this image, and then thinking about what has occurred thereafter? This group exhibition, the first in the series, has been curated by Toshiharu Suzuki, curator at Toyota Municipal Museum of Art. The aim of the exhibition is to deepen the way we think about the attraction of pictures, considering how and what has changed in the many thousands of years since they were first created. Thinking solely about the number of years that have passed since a picture has been produced has no meaning, but if we can understand how pictures have traveled and reverberated through the passage of time we may gain a better understanding of how it is they have continued to shake the world.
