Noboru Shionoya
Shop@Cafe is a continuing series of small exhibits that showcase popular and trendy goods under the catchphrase “Living with Art.” This summer, the work of Noboru Shionoya, a jewelry artist who has won high acclaim in the worlds of theater, cinema and fashion, will be presented. Where is jewelry usually seen? Worn by women as a fashion accent? In the showcase of a department store? Stored and forgotten in a drawer? At Shop@Cafe, jewelry takes the leading role, each piece proclaiming its unique existence as an inhabitant of a forest, joined as one with natural wood, natural stone, metal, rhinestones, feathers, plastic and even yarn bobbins.
