Tipping isn’t practiced in Japan. The closest equivalent might be the small creations customers fold out of the paper their chopsticks come wrapped in, done as an expression of gratitude to servers. Around 8,000 of these “tips” from a collection of 13,000 originating all across Japan are on display.
