This event has ended.
The artists selected for this exhibition express through their outstanding artworks a uniquely Japanese sense, where the distinctive sensations of the change in season from late summer to fall can be felt. This includes the gradually clearing air, the coming and going of typhoons, the eventual deepening in the blue of the sky, and the thickening veil of night. Visitors are invited to stand and gaze during the long fall nights, the commotion of summer having been and gone. Delicate but resonant, these artworks get to the heart of the beauty of “fluctuation” and “fading,” which are characteristic of the beauty of Japan.
