Spiral
Finished

Artists

Naoki Onogawa, Guse Ars, Satoshi Someya, Akihiro Higuchi
The concept of the private art collection was developed in Europe around the 15th century. Valuable works that reflected the sensibilities of various countries and regions began to be collected. Rare objects that attracted viewers became known as wonders or curiosities. This included Japanese art and craft items. For this exhibition Mina-to will present objects created from paper, ceramics and lacquer using traditional techniques. Work by four artists will be showcased: Naoki Onogawa, who creates artwork featuring folded cranes; Guse Ars, who recomposes the patterns extracted from fragments of old pottery; Satoshi Someya, who creates multifaceted lacquerware; Akihiro Higuchi, who uses gold lacquer maki-e techniques to produce insects and animals.
