Gunma Biennale for Young Artists 2017 presents work by up-and-coming creators aged between 15 and 30 years old that have submitted their artworks to the nationwide competition, which was launched in 1991 and is held every other year. For this 13th edition of the biennale, 37 works by 36 individuals/groups have been selected from the impressive 244 works submitted by 172 people (170 groups) in total. In mid-January the jury allocated the prizes, awarding one Grand Prize, one Excellence Award, fours Encouragement Prizes, one Gumma Forest Outdoor Award and one Gateau Festa Harada Award.
