The countdown to Christmas begins with “Night at the Hakone Open Air Museum,” an outdoor exhibit combining the park’s sculptures with illuminations by lighting and video artist Kyota Takahashi, known for projects such as the Echigo Tsumari light-up display “Gift for Frozen Village.” See the Hakone Open Air Museum’s plaza and sculptures like never before by touring the park with lanterns as colorful lights spread across the grounds, responding to the lantern light. Opening hours will be extended to 18:00 during this one-of-a-kind participatory event.
