Japan, a nation of islands, is home to 35,000 kilometers of coastline, more than any other nation in the world. This exhibition coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the Japan Professional Photographers Society presents 180 images revealing the relationship between the sea and Japanese culture, as seen in seaside fishing and harbor industries, factories, festivals, tourism, folklore, history, and lifestyles.
