Artists

Rasiki, Zip King, Narumi Watanabe
Exhibition bringing to together the work of three photographers. Rasiki focuses on the daily lives of people in the city and takes photos intended to capture the quiet monologue of the soul. This exhibition presents her works focusing on themes such as “The Anxiety and Joy of Chinese Emigrant Children in an Unknown City,” “Fatigue and Sorrow in Shinjuku: Daylight,” “Canyons of a Shared Soul,” “Day and Night for Foreigners in Tokyo,” and “Bonds of Trust.” Meanwhile, for Tan (Zip King), photography is about expressing his own feelings. He pursues the essence of photography through street photography, functioning as a shy photographer that captures beauty and emotion through shooting people from behind. In contract, Narumi Watanabe’s photography can be considered as both a part of reality and something that embodies the artist’s delusions and unconsciousness. She pursues the possibility of photography as fine art, here introducing works shot with the intention of raising the awareness of beauty through colors, shapes, and movements that we are rarely conscious of in everyday life. The experimental photos included here feature paintings and dance.
