Cover Up the Koko is the solo exhibition for Shinnosuke Tojo, winner of the 18th Spiral Independent Creators Festival Grand Prix. Tojo oxidizes ultra-thin 0.3-milimeter sheets of metal and alters their surfaces to create works that seem like strange illusions of depth. Depending on the viewer’s perspective, angle, and light source, these objects may seem entirely like living creatures transforming before your eyes. They are not lenticular images or holograms, but an entirely new visual experience. Tojo’s work has been featured in numerous art fairs and festivals, including the Nakanojo Biennale.
