Akiko Ikeuchi
Akiko Ikeuchi’s fundamental artistic style of creating installations from thread has remained unchanged since Gallery 21 yo-j began representing her as a university student in the early 1990s. Her recent undulating silk pieces have a mysterious quality that seems to capture light. In this exhibition coinciding with the release of a catalogue of more than 20 years of work, Ikeda presents red works possessing a sense of power within their delicacy.
