Tomo Hirai
Tomo Hirai, a resident of Italy since 1972, has received awards such as the Florence International Ceramics Exhibition Prize and exhibited works in shows across Italy. His mosaic tile works have also been featured in parks, monuments, and public architecture. Serving as an advisor for an exhibition for the Italian contemporary ceramics master Carlo Zauli, Hirai has deepened cultural ties between Japan and Italy. Installations of Hirai’s Majolica Fragments series started from the 1990s are on display.
