Kazuya Yamamoto focuses on the visualization of the gravity and expression of eroticism in his sculptural works. In recent pieces, he emphasizes organic motifs; wrinkles and folds of skin are elicited from organic materials. By polishing his works with his own hands, he achieves a finish that embodies corporeal eroticism. The exhibition will include his main work “Entrance,” which is a large sculpture of over two meters comprised of four parts. Framed by an entrance way reminiscent of that of a temple approach, the suggestion is that viewers participate in a kind of religious ceremony.
