Endangered Products: Enamel

Matsuya Design Gallery
Finished
There was a time when enamel pots and pans were all the rage, admired in kitchens by housewives and those who had the pleasure of using them the world over. In recent years, however, the use of various enamel cooking utensils has been suppressed, making it difficult to see the value in these items. This exhibition will reintroduce the art of enamel and the products associated with this material. The production of enamel requires a complex and difficult procedure, and many people are unaware of what it actually entails. Here the method will be introduced in an accessible manner and shown alongside the presentation of domestically produced enamel products.
