This international symposium will be held in advance of the 10th Yebisu International Festival for Art and Alternative Visions. The overarching theme of this year’s event is “invisible,” a keyword that refers to one of the potential characteristics of moving images and allows exploration of this form of expression in the present age.
Linked also to the exhibition “Japanese Expanded Cinema Revisited,” currently running at Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (August 15 - October 15), this symposium will attempt to explore the future potential of moving images by inviting researchers in the field of art and video to considering the history of the image.
Event Date: Oct. 9 (Mon) 14:00-17:00 (doors open 13:30)
Capacity: 190 (admitted by numbered admission tickets/free seating)
Admission: Free (you will require a numbered admission ticket for the event, available from 10:00 on the day at the 1F Hall Information Desk)
