An explorer is a person who investigates the new or unfamiliar, an adventurer. Skip City Sainokuni Visual Plaza launched the Media Explorer Challenge (MEC) Award in 2012, creating a public forum for the presentation of work by talent leading the future of video expression. This year exciting and diverse works that challenge the possibility for new forms of visual expression will be showcased. In addition to the five selected works, a brand new piece by Yuki Yoko, last year’s MEC Award Grand Prix winner, will be on display.
