Built into Japan’s mountainous terrain, terraced rice paddies (“tanada”) are a fundamental part of the Japanese landscape. Morihiro Hosokawa, an artist who depicts these rice-cultivating vistas, now presents murals of tanada in each season painted on 60 sheets of washi paper spanning two meters by one meter.
