Artists

Lee Wen
This exhibition will present a selection of brand new drawings by Singaporean Lee Wen, who is known around the world as a performance and installation artist. While suffering with the onset of Parkinson’s, Lee has been working within his physical limitations and using drawing to expand his language of expression. Recognizing the freedom of the body and viewing drawing within the trajectory performance, this ethnically Chinese Singaporean that exists in a complex social position continues to produce work exploring the freedom of expression and identity. His blue birds drawn with colored pencils symbolize the peace that he hopes for in this era of deepening confusion. This is the first time his drawings have been exhibited in Japan.
