Thawiphat Praengoen
Yodo (Thawiphat Praengoen) from Chiang Mai, Thailand is the first artist to participate in Teratosera, a new residency program focused on Southeast Asia. For this inaugural exhibition, Yodo conducted research based on the story that Prince Akihito (Japan’s current Emperor) gifted tilapia fish to the King of Thailand during his visit. An installation incorporating art, politics and media, which presents Yodo’s research and explores the theory that the tilapia story has been used as propaganda in Thailand, will be exhibited. Teratosera’s volunteers (Terakko) have also been involved in the exhibition.
