Fumiyu Kanoto presented her graduation work “Frank woman” at the 2012 Tohoku University of Art and Design Graduate Exhibition. Two years later, it made a strong impression on audiences once again when included in a Hakujitsu-kai Association exhibition. Kanoto is aware of the sense of distance between the viewer and the subjects in her work, and looks to express her own personal reality by reflecting her subjectivity on the canvas. This is her first ever solo exhibition.
