Artists

Fumiko Hori
For this exhibition Fumiko Hori, who celebrated her 99th birthday this year, will select as yet unseen works from those among her studio to present to the public for the first time. In the 1970s, when she was younger, Hori worked on illustrations for magazines and newspapers, producing colorful works and images inspired by trips she was sent on around Japan for the purpose of seeing different local areas during the country’s distinct seasons. In such works you can see the origins of the techniques that are used in her later masterpieces.
