Artists

Mitsukuni Misaki
Mitsukuni Misaki’s is an artist that expresses his thought is each of his works. Born in the midst of the turbulent Showa era (1926–1989), Misaki entered the world of ceramics in search of a place that would allow him to live slowly, at his own pace. There are likely many ceramic artists that feel this way, but ones that have truly searched for the own path and received accolades such as Misaki, from the Japan Ceramic Society and Kikuchi Biennale, among other events, are few and far between. The title of this exhibition, “Being Boundless,” suggests of a relaxed existence, comparable to the idea of clouds floating freely in the sky. Around 40 stunning works by Misaki will be presented here.
