Yuichiro Tamura
Yuichiro Tamura and Hiroyuki Hattori have been traveling to Oyama City regularly for the last year, making observations and developing a dialog. During this process, Hattori took an interest in the Oyama City Kurumaya Museum of Art’s unique sense of scale, as well as it’s potential as a public facility, where the boundary between the public and the private are eroded. Meanwhile, Tamura singled out the Nissan Gloria vehicle used by the museum as a thing of interest. This car was once a symbol of abundance in the period of high economic growth during the post-war years, but now it seems that it cuts through the present and future situation of this regional art museum.
This exhibition is a chance to think about how we can live better in the years to come.
