Handeishi Kawakita began preparations to move a mountainside kiln in Tsu, Mie Prefecture to its current location in the foothills of Mt. Hase in 1946. Its serene home now includes a Buddhist temple and a self-portrait statue of its founder. Four ceramics artists practicing at the kiln present their works.
