Scores - Sculpture, Music, Architecture

Tokyo Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Kenichi Kanazawa, Hiroyuki Ura, Kyo Ichinose, Kiyonori Sogabe
The sculptures presented here, formed of square aluminum pipes of varying widths and depths, can be viewed as a score. Replace the elements of the sculpture with sound and time, and you can produce music. For if the sound is produced by vibrations between the air and the shapes or objects that exist in the space, then music can be perceived as an invisible sculpture. This collaborative exhibition in two parts straddles the field of sculpture, music, and architecture.

Part 1: Sep. 28 (Thu) - Nov. 5 (Sun) 2017, Kenichi Kanazawa (sculptor) + Hiroyuki Ura (Musician)
Part 2: Nov. 9 (Thu) - Dec. 24 (Sun) 2017, Kenichi Kanazawa (sculptor) + Kyo Ichinose (Musician) + Kiyonori Sogabe (Musician)
