This exhibition introduces works from the collection of Kotaro Terada, who has spent many years working in the field of landscape gardening, and who has overseen the planting of Tokyo Opera City and the surrounding area for the last 20 years. His way of thinking about trees is unique, prioritizing the health of the plants as opposed to a carefully sculpted appearance. For this reason he avoids the use of pesticides or anything that may affect the condition of the trees at all costs, allowing them to face their natural destiny. The serenity of these plants is mirrored by Terada, who is is himself a quiet person. Here you can see the subject of serenity addressed by artists through the works of art on exhibit here.
