Hiroshi Osaka is a photographer highly acclaimed by the industry, having received accolades such as the 1984 Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS) exhibition Grand Prix for his work “Object,” which takes a handmade doll as the subject, and the 1985 Photographic Society of Japan “New Face Award” for his artistic nude series “Syzygy.” His various series depict landscapes, still life subjects, nudes and other themes. Osaka’s commitment to production always makes a strong impression on viewers of his work. This exhibition will move in close to the essence Osaka’s practice by tracing his quest for beauty. Around 30 works will be presented here including monochrome gelatin silver prints and prints made from large format Polaroid negatives.
