This exhibit features prizewinning works from the 55th JAA Advertising Awards Consumer-Evaluated Competition, sponsored by Japan Advertisers Association Inc., and the 59th Japan Magazine Advertising Awards, sponsored by Japan Magazine Advertising Association. Both awards boast a history going back over half a century, recognizing advertising works from their unique perspectives over many years and selecting advertisements through an assessment of their roles and values based on the viewpoints of consumers and readers. The JAA Advertising Awards put particular emphasis on consumers, allowing them to select the award winners from works submitted by advertisers, media and advertising companies. The evaluation this year focused on “creative work that draws you in before you know it” and “empathy-based instant purchase behavior” in order to select the most “emotionally resonant advertisements” of the year.
