Yokosuka Museum of Art holds quarterly collection exhibitions spotlighting contemporary Japanese art and works by artists with ties to Yokosuka. For this event celebrating its tenth anniversary, the museum it will present an exhibition reflecting the results of public vote by visitors. Between April 23 and December 11 last year, visitors could to vote for their favorite works from the “Collection Selection” catalog, which included 68 artworks by 68 different artists. A total of 5645 votes were received. The artworks that received the most votes will be introduced in exhibition rooms 4 and 5. In addition, there will also be an exhibition room with work by western-style painter Kanuemon Asai, who had an atelier in Yokosuka city for 20 years following the war, and rooms presenting works by Ryuzaburo Umehara as well as painters with connections to France.
