Established in 1970, the Film Center at National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo is the only national film organization in Japan that actively collects and preserves films as cultural property, while also offering a consistent program of film screenings for the public. In addition to the movies themselves the collection also includes movie ephemera such as posters, photographic stills, screenplays, press materials, and books.
This exhibition presents 10 items selected from among each of the three historically valuable collections held by the center.
