The word “mirage” refers to a natural phenomenon where atmospheric conditions allow refracted light to cause optical illusions. This exhibition presenting work by 3rd year students of oil painting at Tokyo University of the Arts will present 60 unique expressions developed out of this theme. Their various manifestations come together in the exhibition venue, appearing as independent pieces but also in dialog with one other, so that the influence each of the paintings bears on the other works on show constantly changes the appearance of the space. What you will discover here is an unpredictable phenomenon that can only be experienced in person.
