The power of the image. This is the most important visual pursuit in painter Meguru Yamaguchi’s practice. Each time we see a work that stimulates our brain, it becomes a part of our mental gallery of images. Yamaguchi goes beyond the canvas as a medium to integrate sculptural elements, experimenting with materials, forms, and visual aspects of painting. What is painting? What is contemporary art? Artists will continue to grapple with these questions as they produce works of image and human memory for future generations.
