Saka Matsushita incorporates monoprinting in uniquely developed techniques she uses to create works exploring memories and dreams. Many of her works from her time as a student of stage art design in London feature rooms as a motif, and these deal with themes of “absence,” an exhibition title Matsushita has had in mind since 2015. Unoccupied rooms have a different feeling than used ones, and just like people, rooms possess their own memories.
