Takashi Kuraya + Iwauko Murakami “Let’s talk about photography”

Takashi Kuraya + Iwauko Murakami
This exhibition is the third in the “Words and Images” series, which presents work that focuses on history that is hard to visualize and new possibilities for expressing our complex contemporary society. Previous installments have presented the work of Koichi Watanabe, who used photographs and text in his “Moving Plants,” and Mieko Matsumoto. On this occasion work by photographers Takashi Kuraya and Iwauko Murakami will be introduced. If photographs have the ability to record something that cannot be expressed in words, then words may have the ability to represent something that cannot be expressed in a photograph. But what is this something? Kuraya will explore this question through “Pets,” and Murakami will ponder it with “Untitled Origami.”
