Yingting Cui (b. 1994) is a Beijing-born multimedia artist and 2017 graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago whose photography, films, and installations, and other works deal with themes of cities, countries, and continents as well as personal issues. Evoking complex feelings arising from spaces filled with industrial and artificial elements, “As The Garden Collapses, The Road Shall Fall” represents a set of conflicting images Cui encountered while living in Tokyo as an artist-in-residence.
