The Port Journey Project connects the world’s creative port cities. For this year’s event, Hamburg artist Rahel Bruns will hold her first solo exhibit in Japan “Human Faces”, a large window pane of glass scattered with numerous faces. Bruns will use photos of the faces of locals and tourists who gather at Yokohama’s Zou-no-hana Terrace to create a dynamic parade of faces.

Public installation and production of the exhibition. Participatory workshop is an opportunity for visitors to help install the stickers of faces.

Talk Event: Building Community from Spaces - Shifting the Public Space

A talk program about public spaces with researchers and activists involved in urban development from Japan and the US. The discussion will focus on the best uses of public spaces using case studies from Georgia, San Diego, and Yokohama.

Reception Party & Artist Talk “Snack Zou-no-hana”
The reception for “Human Faces” will be held in collaboration with “Snack Zou-no-hana”. An artist talk will be held with Rahel Bruns and Rintaro Hara, who exhibited this spring in Helsinki as part of the Port Journey Project.
