Artists

Akira Mizuno
Akira Mizuno (b. 1974) is a Gunma artist who has taken realist painting to its highest levels while pursuing new expressions in the medium through experimentation. A trip to Spain in 2014 and 2015 prompted the artist to take up photography as well. Mizuno’s latest paintings and drawings, including works tackling how to portray a mother living with a terminal illness, are exhibited for the first time in Japan. A total of 90 of Mizuno’s works questioning the nature of reality are exhibited, from early works to those from Europe to new pieces.
