The cherry blossom or sakura has long been cherished by the Japanese. Over the years, numerous artists have depicted the flower in various paintings of stories, scenes, and famous places. This exhibit presents sakura-themed works from the Yamatane Museum collection including Gyoshu Hayami’s ‘Yozakura’, Kaii Higashiyama’s ’Harushizu’, and Gaho Hashimoto’s ‘Takanori Kojima’. Come enjoy sakura depictions by these early 20th century Japanese artists.
