High-definition camera lenses can be used not only for crisply captures shots but those with softer images as well. In the past such effects were achieved by using “soft filters” or by placing an oiled cloth over the filter. This exhibition presents soft-focus 37 photographs on washi paper, most exhibited publically for the first time, by three important Japanese photographers: Shotaro Akiyama, Shoji Ueda, and Takashi Kijima.
