Michihiro Otake, Atsuko Nuri, Shigeru Matsuura
Presenting richly colored works by the Miyagi-based artists Michihiro Otake, Atsuko Nuri, and Shigeru Matsuura. Otake illustrates food packages, TV program scenes, and images from a childhood plant encyclopedia in colored pencil and pen in complexly overlapping layers. Nuri applies her own images to colored paper in a process of drawing in dialogue with black and white photographs. Matsuura uses wood as a material to create globe-inspired carvings to which he applies color depending on the forms they take.
