Teppei Sako
Born in 1988 in Osaka, Japan Teppei Sako studied woodblock printing at Kyoto Seika University and is active as a photographer and visual artist. For his approach to taking the decisive moment found in still photography and applying it to video Sako was unanimously awarded the Canon New Cosmos of Photography 2015 grand prize. He has also garnered attention for silkscreen and zine production and collaboration with Yaya Ueda and Shunsuke Kano on the project The Copy Travelers. This exhibition, Sako’s first since moving from Kyoto Tokyo, showcases photos taken with the iPhone and compact cameras.
