This group exhibition showcases works by those represented by Shugoarts, dividing the gallery space into two sections - one half for photography, and the other for painting and sculpture. Towards the front of the gallery space you can see gelatin silver prints by Yasumasa Moriyama, Yuji Ono, Kazuna Taguchi and Tomoko Yoneda. Ono’s (b. 1963)photographs, on public display at Shugoarts gallery for the first time, take paintings produced from the 16th to 18th centuries as their subject, drawing attention to the act of “looking” and appearing to depict light itself. Meanwhile, in the rear exhibition room, you can see paintings by Masaya Chiba, Masato Kobayashi, Aki Kondo, Lee Kit and Naofumi Maruyama, sculptural works by Yukio Fujimoto, Leiko Ikemura, Ritsue Mishima, Shigeo Toya, and a selection of large-scale and smaller works by other artists.
