Kumiko Yamada
Kumiko Yamada relies on traditional Nihonga techniques to express human feelings and emotions. Her work mostly depicts women but at times depicts women and men together. When depicting women alone, her work delves into women’s desire to be loved. When depicting women and men together, the work focuses on the difficulty of women and men becoming one emotionally. The aim of her work is to share the conclusion that “people are ultimately lonely creatures”.
