Kuniyo Takayasu, Jun Takayasu
Kuniyo Takayasu was a poet and scholar of German literature active in the Showa period (1926-1989). In 1934, he joined the literary magazine Araragi and worked under Bunmei Tsuchiya. He later taught at Kyoto University and became known as a postwar poet, as well as a translator of German literary works by authors such as Rilke. Jun Takayasu is the third son of Kuniyo and was born with hearing impairment.
