Artists

Fumio Takamizawa
This third exhibition in the Japanese Art Sound Archive series focuses mainly on the work “Number of Sheep Who Jumped over the Fence” by Fumio Takamizawa. It was originally presented in 1974 and has been reproduced by the artist himself for this show.
The Japanese Art Sound Archive series directed by Minoru Hatanaka of NTT ICC and audio/video culture theorist Tomotaro Kaneko reexamines and archives artworks and activities in which artists use sound. It recreates and produces new editions of sound-based works using original materials and audio sources, some of which have never been released before.
On the evening of February 16, Kaneko and Hatanaka will deliver a presentation including archival video footage to introduce the aims and programs of the Japanese Art Sound Archive.
