Artists

Zoé Schellenbaum
A native of New Caldonia who was raised in France and is now based in Japan, Zoé Schellenbaum uses art to raise practical questions about the fixed nature of place. She applies her critical understanding starting from her own roots not only for artistic expression but for academic research as well. This exhibition based on local research in New Caldonia incorporates documentation on ceremonial weapons, ship sails, and traditional seafaring methods into installations, film, and drawings.
