Takahiro Iwasaki
Takahiro Iwasaki uses objects from everyday life such as toothbrushes, towels, bookmarks, duct tape, and mechanical pencil lead in minutely elaborate worlds that shake our perceptions of reality. For this exhibition at the Ginza Tsutaya Books, Iwasaki presents new works from his thread sculpture series “Out of Disorder (Frame),” recreating suburban scenes of power lines viewed from car windows, and “Tectonic Model,” which perches “construction cranes” made from thread bookmarks on the volumes they come from. These works form a “book forest” filled with knowledge and imagination.
