This exhibit shines a spotlight on three international exhibits held by the Hara Museum in the 1990s, “A Primal Spirit: Ten Contemporary Japanese Sculptors”, “Photography and Beyond in Japan”, and “Shiro Kuramata Exhibition”. The aim of the ambitious project was to showcase the best of modern Japanese art overseas. This exhibit looks at the trajectory taken by these artists and their work since then.
