Akiko Taniguchi
Ceramicist Akiko Taniguchi produces works by silting together pieces of clay that she has worked into the surface of, firing these sheets as three dimensional pieces. This exhibition focuses on works she produced during her residency in Shigaraki, Shiga prefecture last year. Left unglazed, these piece have been created using only three types of clay and nothing else, with Taniguchi varying the firing technique and other factors to vary the coloration of each.
