Throughout 2018, the Tokyo and Azumino branches of the Chihiro Art Museum’s present exhibitions in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the children’s book illustrator Chihiro Iwasaki. The third show in Tokyo invites plaplax, an art unit that uses a variety of media in its interactive works. This time, plapax employs video in “Children in Pictures” inviting visitors to play inside of Chihiro’s illustrations and encourages physically interaction with her books with “Picture-Viewing Playground.
